Rio Madrid 10 - 3 The Replacement

Rio Madrid cruised to their 4th straight victory after a crushing 10 - 3 defeat to relegation threatened "the replacement" in midweek.
A sell out crowd packed Lords Stadium Subiaco for the Red Miners first home fixture of the year. The crowd soon had something to cheer about 2 minutes in when D.Young poked in the opening goal on what was going to turn out as a stella night for the young striker signed from Johannesburg in the January transfer window of 2010. A quiet season last year with a disappointing 3 goals in all forms of the game has already been blitzed after a 5 goal haul in this outing his 15th for the club and 3rd this season.
With a near full strength line up Rio outclassed the opposition with VerBeek, Hodges, Burton & Greene all adding to the score sheet.
J.Telfer the holding midfielder signed for a record 500 rand in the off season was yellow carded for the first time in his short career with the club. Manager Sir Jonathan "JB HiFi" Ball was quoted after the match describing the incident as "ludacris".

Rio Madrid 5 - 4 Hardly Athletic

Madrid were pegged back before halftime as an opening brace by D. Young were cancelled out before another 2 goals were added.
Down 4 - 2 at the break Madrid made a bold call of bringing on there new star signing from Zimbabwe G. Hodges to occupy the net.
Immedietely after the break a nice interchange between Telfer & Greene led to a nicely placed finish from Greene into the bottom right corner of the net.
Tensions were high as many tough challenges were going in and the physicality hit 5th gear. Verbeek was staunch in the heart of the defence and it was his calmy placed effort that locked it all up 5 minutes from time.
A tense couple of minutes followed with some outstanding resolute goalkeeping by Hodges followed by what some could only label bizaare goalkeeper tennis.
1 minute from time was the moment the 23 strong crowd had been waiting for, some outstanding defence led to a breakaway 1 on 1 with Greene and the defender. Greene opted for pulling the ball wide before smashing an effort into the top corner of the ole onion bag to seal a dramatic 5 - 4 win.
Madrid were all smiles as they go 3 - 0 and look forward to a home fixture next thursday.

Rio Madrid 4 - 1 The Replacement

The look on Jeff Telfers face said it all as he rattled a thunderous headed effort into the crossbar at a packed out Lords Stadium on Thursday.
The Red Miners set a lively pace from the outset striking numerous efforts on goal but without result until a well placed shot from D. Young into the corner opened the scoring.
Following this was some great play throughout the match and a steady flow of goals continued to come with Burton, Greene and Hedley adding to the scorers sheet.
A lot more shooting practise though this week in training will be undertaken as many opportunities were lost.
A great start to the season though as Rio Madrid go 1 and 0 and send out a beacon to the rest of the field as they highlight there credentials for the premiership.

Rio Madrid - Score a lot united 0 - 5

Because of the traffic conditions most of the poeple arrived late and we lost the game. In fact the team could not field enough players within one quarter of the match (around 8 minutes) and it became a forfeit. I remind you that the rules of Lords state that:

Late arrivals Penalties

2 minutes late = 1 goal
Every additional minute thereafter = 1 goal
Penalties must be added before the commencement of the second half.
After the equivalent of one-quarter of the game time elapsing the official may declare the game a forfeit if a team can not field the minimum amount of players to start a game.

We will have another game at 6.00 on Oct 14th, please plan in advance your trip to the stadium considering the traffic conditions at that time of the day.

Rio Madrid 11 - 4 Club Fut

Team what a win we had last night!!
Only myself Darryl James and Alwin showed up so we had to find 2 replacements and luckily we managed to find 2 players that played for perth/australia.
We had some beautiful play and controlled the game throughout. Daz headlined the scoring with 2 goals and James was a force in goal. The new boys contributed 3 each myself 2 and Alwin with 1.
We have a bye next week but after that we will continue our winning form against a team we only lost by 1 goal to earlier in the season.
Coach Darryl's advice for this week as we have a bye "grab yourself a beer and soak up the winning vibe".
Goodnight

Rio Madrid 4 - Akabusi FC 5

Lads another agonising loss to a top team in the competition. We had a great game and were unlucky to not come out with a win.
We played as a team which is great to see. Lots of communication and working hard for each other and it clearly shows in the scoreline.
Player of the Day is going to Alwin today for some fantastic defence and registering himself on the scoresheet.
Next week is the week for us!!!!!!!
